Established in the year 1998, the Institute is Affiliated to Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University, Ananthapuramu and Recognized by AICTE, New Delhi. It is also Recognized by the UGC under Section 2(f) and 12(b). The Institute has been Granted Autonomy by UGC from Academic Year 2011-2012. The Institute offers Eleven(11) UG and Six(6)PG programs in Engineering and Technology, MBA , MCA and offers Four(5) Diploma programms”

The college is located on high way in an area of 65 acres of scenic beauty at R.V.S. Nagar, Chittoor, Andhra Pradesh. The College is located seven kilometers from Chittoor and 60 KM from Tirupathi, the famous hill shrine of Lord Sri Venkateswara.

The college has spacious well-designed, adequately furnished and ventilated classrooms. All the laboratories of engineering and sciences are well equipped with the required equipments. The college is facilitated with a 250KVA capacity generator to ensure uninterrupted power supply for the conduct of academic activities. The laboratories and workshops are fully equipped with the state-of-art of facilities; particularly the computer centre, CAD/CAM center, Automated Library; Digital Library, internet and language labs are value added assets to the college.

The library has total books volumes of 73747 and 10751 titles, 134 national journals, and 30 international journals  and 4861  Online Journals. The students are encouraged to make full use of the library and other facilities. The college and hostels are equiped with wifi and LAN with 230 Mbps high speed Internet connectivity.

The college has accomplished remarkable growth in the past twenty two years. The students’ admission has been growing steadily year-by-year as in the case, in the first cradle year, i.e. 1998 the sanctioned intake was 180, which has now increased to 1926.SVCET has students from 43 countries and 18 states of india. As the intake of students multiplies, the infrastructure of the college, which is constantly under expansion to keep pace with the growing need and trends of technology.
